Do you need an urgent appointment? Don’t forget you can get advice via the NHS app or 111 website for lots of common conditions or via your local pharmacy.
If you have a joint/muscle problem that is new, you can contact our musculoskeletal service where you can refer yourself directly without the need for a GP appointment.
Under the pharmacy first scheme, pharmacies can offer advice on a large range of conditions and prescribe treatment, including antibiotics, for several conditions without seeing a GP. If you call for one of these conditions the receptionist may ask you to see your local pharmacist instead of a doctor.
The following table shows the 7 conditions pharmacists can manage across various age ranges.
